THE LEGENDARY 007: SEAN CONNERY

The above portrait is of Sir Sean Connery, the legendary retired Scottish actor who has revolutionized the world of cinema. Connery was the first actor who portrays the legendary fictional character James Bond 007, in seven films from 1962 to 1967, 1971 and 1983. Before entering into the film industry his early life had gone many ups and downs. Along his acting he had many talents those are well performed in his early life struggles. He served his country by joining Royal Navy, besides this he also joined many small jobs i.e. a milkman, a lorry driver, a lifeguard, a laborer, an artist model and few others. He had showed interest in bodybuilding at the age 18 and was third in the 1950 Mr. Universe contest. He was also a keen football player, played against a local team in his younger days. Connery played 007 in the first five Bond films: Dr. No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Gold finger (1964), Thunder ball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967). Connery portrayed the role of James Bond very uniquely that he was selected as the Third Greatest hero in cinema history by the American Film Institute. Peoples still use to remember the famous line in the Bond films: "My name is Bond, James Bond" and “Vodka Martini Shaken, not stirred". These words together constitute a phrase which became famous all over the world. The character James Bond was created by the British Journalist and Novelist Ian Fleming in 1953. It is a fictional spy character who works for British Secret Service referring code number as 007.

Methods:

To draw the portrait, I have use sketch paper, pencil, eraser and a paper copy of the reference image. First I took the paper copy of my reference image to draw the portrait. Then I took a sketch paper and draw the outline of the sketch with the help of 2B pencil. After completing, the outline shading has been done to highlight the portrait by using 5B, 6B and 8B pencils.

A Sketch On My Vote My Right: Irrespective of Caste, Creed, Religion and Gender

In a democratic country i.e. India, People have the right to vote to elect their desired candidate. Elections are conducted so that people can choose their eligible representatives to fulfill their needs and requirements. The election commissions do provide voter identification card to every 18 above persons from which they can vote. The present election method is much improved than the 90s elections due to implication of Electronic Voting Machines. Earlier paper ballots method was widely preferred where chances were more of fraudulent voting and booth capturing. But now-a-days EVM have the capacity to cast votes to five per minute, can store voting signatures and thumb impressions in electronic database. This method reduces the unfair judgments, electoral fraud and abuse.


Here's The Little explanation about the sketch:

Sketching human face is always been a critical task. In portraits more care is taken in measuring the right proportion of facial parts and detailing the facial expressions. Here the artist portraits three persons having different religious views and with them a liberal man is also sketch. The sketch signifies that in spite of having different ideologies regarding religion we all stand equally whenever country needs us. Votes from all religious groups are highly valuable because we live in a country where unity in diversity is still believed and respected.

Sketching methods:

1. Firstly, a white clean drawing paper is taken.

2. Secondly, essential drawing equipments are gathered i.e. Pencils, Eraser, Sharpener, Paper cutter, Small clean cloth etc.

3. Thirdly, the characters are drawn by marking the outline of facial parts. After that their costumes are gradually drawn giving them unique identification marks or symbols or signs according to their religious status. These all are done by HB Pencils.

4. In this sketch the light and shadow is also taken care of as the characters are standing in a queue one after another. The first one having more expose to light than the later ones.

5. Lastly the characters are made darker so to have a richer image by 6B Pencils.

The special part of this sketch is that it shows the togetherness and strength of Indian citizens and the artist intension is to convey a message that all Indians are our brothers and sisters and we do cast vote together in a same shed.

9 Significant Good Habits

Now-a-days being busy is becoming a part of our life. People hardly manage to do some good habits i.e. regular exercise, meditation, healthy diet, etc. But those are generally discontinued after a couple of few days. Strong determination is very much needed to do the same even if it takes too long for the result. To do a good work there will be two bad works acting behind it, which will eventually mislead the good path. 

In the above sketch the artist want to draw attention about the 9 significant good habits which must be follow by every individual so that a good and healthy life can be obtained. 

This sketch is technically half pictorial and half descriptive. Viewing the pictorial symbols, one can easily identify what are their purposes and how they are linked with the overall depiction.

The pictorial symbols that represents good habits are:

1. Meditation. 
It helps to enhance the inner potentialities of human. It all starts from the individual mind attaining a target to fulfill through relaxing and focusing. It boosts the individual mind so to have a better concentration in work.

2. An apple or healthy diet. 
The world is getting deteriorated day by day which directly affects the quality of food, so by consuming kitchen garden food or any other healthy productive food; one can ensure a longer lifespan.

3. Palette and brush. 
All have born with an unique talent, the problem is that people often fell de-motivated and divert their route which is against their desired dreams and thereby misery prevails. For a quality lifespan one should try to know the hidden talent and work accordingly.

4. Routine regular rest. 
Human body needs adequate rest by which it increases working efficiency and decreases drowsiness in working hours. Rest also stabilizes and refreshes the mind so to have effective start.

5. Reading books. 
Books are our real friend which can be the gateway for success if the knowledge are utilize wisely. Reading books is a good habit by which an individual can remove the shackles of society.

6. Regular exercise. 
It maintains a good overall growth in human body; improves better circulation of blood in blood vessels, unblocks the block nerves and many more.

7. Workout. 
Generally people think workout means to build up existing muscles in human body but in spite of that there are other beneficiaries i.e. increases vitality, controls blood sugar, helps in weight loss and gain, emergence of positive vibes, etc.

8. Value time. 
It is often said that the time is precious than money and it is definitely true because time and tides waits for none. Finishing up the daily task in time can provide extra time for other desired activities and one can be more successful in his/her life if time is prioritizes.

9. A healthy heart. 
Oily foods have lots of cholesterol which is not healthy for human body as well as the heart. Therefore doctor always suggest to intake low cholesterol foods.

The descriptive images are:

1. A pigeon flying peacefully which represents peace love and also luck.

2. A tree providing pleasant environment to its surrounding and at last.

3. A calm minded human, just enjoying the benefits of good life by acquiring the above given good habits.

Now let’s move to sketching part. How the artist drawn it?

Every art is simple if we consider it as simple. There is no rigid formula like in math nor any principle or law like in science, just draw what you saw.

1. First a clean white art paper is taken.

2. Secondly required materials for sketching are gathered i.e. Pencils, Eraser, Sharpener, Paper cutter, Small clean cloth, Geometry (Scale, Magnifier, and a Round Protector).

3. Fine outlines are drawn to every element which makes the rough sketch by 2B pencil; round circles are drawn to put the pictorial symbols inside it by the help of round protector. For darker tone and shadow 4B pencil is used.

4. The Eraser is cut into little pieces by Paper cutter to erase minor mistakes while drawing. Clean cloth is used for smudging. Sometimes Magnifier is used for detailing.
